Green | Bring The Green!
I would guess most everyone has heard of the saying, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Sadly, a lot of people buy into the saying. They believe if they leave their current situation, where the grass appears to be brown or dying, to venture over to the unknown, where the grass appears to be all green and flourishing, life will be so much better. In some cases, this is the reason students switch schools, employees switch jobs, parishioners switch churches, partners switch relationships, and on, and on, and on. There are some strange things about the grass on the other side of the fence. Sometimes when you walk up close to it, it’s green alright, but it’s full of weeds! Sometimes the grass on the other side of the fence isn’t green at all, it just appears to be green from a distance. Then sometimes the grass on the other side of the fence is absolutely beautiful and green.
When people have troubles in life, they often compare their situation to others who appear to have the life they desire. Frustration, anxiety, and even depression can take over when a person decides they are on the wrong side of the comparison. Whatever the situation, people can learn how to bring the green, and grow the grass they want by wanting what they already have (be thankful), pulling some weeds (be humble), fertilizing the ground (show kindness), and watering regularly (give love).
