Never | Never Say Never!

Growing up I would often hear individuals say, “never say never”, in response to someone professing their unwillingness to eat a certain food, or perform a certain act. I professed to never swim with sharks, to never eat kimchi, to never sky dive, and most definitely to never teach middle school students, just to name a few items!

As I have progressed through life, I have learned to choose my words more carefully. Now instead of saying never to certain foods and acts, I say perhaps! I have learned to consider options, experiences, and consequences, and realize that my previous professions were mostly based on my negative perceptions of what I thought the outcomes would be.
